The beach of Costa Ballena, "Playa de la Ballena", is one of the most beautiful of the Costa de la Luz.

Between Rota and Chipiona, the sandy beach of Playa de la Ballena extends over 4 kilometers. From here you can also take long beach walks to Rota or Chipiona.

A green band of vegetation decorates it in parts and the one and the other trickle crosses it on its way into the sea.
The beach is busy in July and August, but from October to March you may not encounter many people.

The 27 hole championship course consists of 3 x 9 holes, whose names "Los Olivos", "Las Palmeras" and "Los Ficus" reflect the trees.

A course that is challenging for players with low handicaps and acceptable for players with less playing experience. It is a shallow course, with some holes parallel to the beach and others protected by strategically located bunkers and lakes.

The facilities are completed with a 9-hole par 3 course with holes 100 to 180 m and an exceptional driving range.

Infrastructure

In the village there are two supermarkets and numerous small shops. While the largest supermarket, Mercadona, is open all year round, many of the smaller shops are only open from May to September.

The cafe "San Antonio" is also a bakery and pastry shop, it is also open all year round and highly recommended.

Some bars and restaurants are available, such as a pizzeria "Panino Piu" or the "La Parrita" with delicious tapas and dishes. On the beach there is the bar "Poniente" and direction Chipiona the "Chinini" or "Prospine"

The hotel "Elba Ballena" is open all year round and has a bar in the hotel complex.

Arrival / Getting around

The nearest airports are Jerez de la Frontera and Seville. While Seville is served non-stop from Germany all year round, you can only reach Jerez de la Frontera from approx. Fly directly from the end of March to the end of October.

For the stay a rental car is recommended as the transport options by public transport are very limited.

In Costa Ballena you can rent bicycles or electric scooters.
